Rural & Large Property Solutions
Smart Technology, No Matter the Distance
Most smart home technology is built with suburban homes in mind. But rural properties, farms, and large lifestyle blocks have their own challenges — and their own opportunities — that a standard install simply doesn't address. Distance is the obvious one: a single Wi-Fi router might cover a suburban home, but it won't reach the machinery shed, the bore pump, or the front gate half a kilometre down the driveway.
We use Ubiquiti UniFi wireless bridges to extend reliable connectivity across large distances — connecting outbuildings, gates, barns, and sheds to your main network without running cable across paddocks. Once connected, everything feeds back into Home Assistant, and the possibilities open up significantly. Irrigation schedules triggered by weather data. Water tank levels monitored in real time. Solar and generator output tracked at a glance. Gate access logged and automated. Security cameras covering the property perimeter with intelligent AI detection alerts.
For large or remote properties, we often begin with a remote consultation — reviewing site plans or satellite imagery to understand distances, line-of-sight challenges, and power availability — before the onsite visit. This means the visit itself is focused and productive. Properties outside Melbourne metro incur an additional callout fee, which we'll always agree on upfront before any travel is booked.
Getting started is straightforward. We begin with a free 15-minute call to understand what you're hoping to achieve and make sure we're the right fit. If you'd like to go further, we arrange an onsite visit ($120) to walk through your property and existing setup — for properties outside Melbourne metro, an additional callout fee applies depending on location. From there, we put together a tailored proposal for your approval before any work begins.
